Warehouse Operative

Job description

This is a semi-skilled role with responsibility for handling and management of all stock, including raw materials, packaging and finished goods into and out of the roastery.


Monday – Thursday: 10:00 – 18:00

Friday: 07:00 – 15:00

Desirable qualifications

  • Reach forklift truck license.
  • Counterbalance forklift truck license.

Main duties

  • Stock handling: unload stock and packaging into the warehouse accurately recording all movement of stock.
  • Non-conformance reporting: promptly report any instances of non-conformance to a manager to facilitate corrective action and prevent quality issues.
  • Sample collection: obtain and record film/label samples as required or as requested for quality control purposes.
  • Cleanliness & tidiness: maintain the warehouse and loading bay area ensuring it is in a clean and tidy condition, adhering to a ‘clean as you go’ policy to uphold standards and prevent hazards.
  • Stock storage: store finished goods and packaging in the racking in a safe manner, adhering to stock rotation procedures, identifying and recording stock at all times.
  • Raw material handling: Ensure all materials are stored correctly and fully protected to prevent damage or contamination.
  • Documentation: ensure the correct documentation is despatched with all deliveries to facilitate accurate tracking and record-keeping.
  • Equipment operation: operate the forklift and any other machinery in a safe manner at all times, conducting daily operational checks and recording findings to ensure asset integrity.
  • Loading operations: load despatch vehicles with finished stock correctly, ensuring pallets are not damaged and are stored correctly to prevent transit damage.
  • Packaging stock replenishment: replenish factory packaging stocks as required, storing items correctly and ensuring cleanliness and good condition of pallets delivered to the factory.
  • Hygiene duties: record hygiene duties on the monthly sheet and maintain a good level of personal hygiene at all times to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Health and safety compliance: strictly follow health and safety rules and regulations to provide a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Additional duties: perform any other related duties as requested by a manager, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of warehouse operations.
