Local charities receive festive donation thanks to Lincoln and York customers

 In Charity initiatives, Company News

We wanted to do something different for Christmas this year. In keeping with the festivity of giving, earlier this month we asked for the help of our customers and suppliers to decide which one of three local charities would receive a Christmas gift in the form of a £500 donation.

There was an enormous level of participation and you all played a part in helping us to decide where the money would go. Considering the overwhelming response, we were surprised to see such a marginal difference between the two charities with the most votes. In fact, we’ve decided that it was too close to call between two very deserving causes. As a result, we’ve decided to make equal donations of £500 to both of the charities.

Congratulations to Salvation Army in Scunthorpe and Andy’s at Saint Andrews Hospice, Grimsby.

Salvation Army has a local charity shop in the city and the local church is committed to transforming the lives of people in their community. We’re delighted to hear that the money will be used in helping the homeless at Christmas with food parcels.

Andy’s is a hospice in Grimsby, providing a comprehensive range of care for children from birth to 25 with any progressive life-limiting illness, and support for those who care for them.

A huge thank you to everyone who voted and for helping two fantastic causes over the Christmas period.

From all of us at Lincoln & York, we hope you have a very, merry Christmas.
